The short answer

CalStack and Cal.com both book meetings from a link or a widget on your website. Cal.com is a broad scheduling platform with a generous free plan, every major calendar and video tool, and enterprise controls such as SSO. CalStack is narrower: it asks your qualifying questions on every plan, preps each call with AI inside Google Meet, and costs one flat price for up to 15 seats.

Choose CalStack if

  • Leads should answer your questions before they see your calendar, on every plan.
  • Your team runs its calls in Google Meet and wants prep and notes beside the call.
  • You'd rather pay one price for up to 15 seats than pay for every user.
  • You want to see where booking page visitors come from, not only who booked.

Choose Cal.com if

  • Your team uses Outlook, Apple or Zoho calendars, or Zoom and Teams links.
  • You want payments, SMS reminders or a CRM sync on a free plan.
  • You need SAML SSO, SCIM or HIPAA compliance.
  • You want to bring your Calendly event types over in one click.

Where CalStack is different

A widget that gives visitors a reason to book

The floating widget rotates short messages you write, so visitors see why to book before they click.

The CalStack booking page editor, with the floating booking widget in the corner of the preview

Questions come before the calendar

Every booking page starts with your qualifying questions, on the Free plan too. CalStack can draft them from a short description of who you want to meet.

Prep and notes inside Google Meet

A side panel in Google Meet shows the lead's answers and your AI talking points. Tag the outcome and take notes without leaving the call.

One price for the whole team

The Team plan covers up to 15 seats for one monthly price, so adding a teammate doesn't change the bill.

When to choose Cal.com instead

  • More on the free plan. Cal.com's free plan includes unlimited event types and calendars, email and SMS notifications, Stripe and PayPal payments, and a two-way HubSpot and Salesforce sync.
  • Any calendar and video tool. Cal.com connects Google, Outlook, Apple and Zoho calendars, and adds Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Cal Video links. CalStack works with Google Calendar and Google Meet only.
  • Enterprise controls. The Organizations plan adds SAML SSO, SCIM, a company subdomain, and SOC 2, HIPAA and ISO 27001 compliance.
  • A one-click Calendly import. Cal.com imports your Calendly event types. CalStack has no importer, so you set each booking page up again.
  • Booking pages in other languages. Cal.com offers booking pages and event details in several languages. CalStack's booking pages are in English.

For teams of four or more, yes. CalStack's Team plan is $47 a month billed yearly for up to 15 seats. Cal.com's Teams plan is $12 a user a month billed yearly, so 10 users cost $120 a month. For one to three people, Cal.com costs less, and both have a free plan.
Is Cal.com still open source?
Not its main product. Cal.com moved its codebase to a private repository in April 2026 and released a separate version, Cal.diy, under the MIT license. CalStack is a hosted product and is not open source either.
